The story of the little Saint Maria Goretti is intimately linked with that of her good parents, who taught her to love Jesus and do only what pleased him. It was her love for Jesus and Mary that gave her the strength to die in defence of her purity. God rewarded the faith and devotion of Maria's mother in a unique way. She was at the beatification and the canonisation of her daughter. Maria preformed a great miracle of love when she touched the heart of her murderer and brought him to seek God's mercy and forgiveness of her mother and family.
