Fr Adelmo completes his meditations on the Gospel series by presenting the Gospel of John as he did Matthew, Mark and Luke. These meditations include not only the texts from John's Gospel, but also Father's own stories from his years of experience as a priest and celebrant of the Liturgy. This is a joint "venture" with is dear friend, Joe Viera, who spent some years in Southern Ethiopia and shares the fruits of his prayerful encounters with the Gospel of John. In meditating on John's Gospel, Father discovered an altogether new and fantastic Jesus in these moments: Lazarus, the anointing at Bethany, but especially his warm and personal relationships and his dialogues with persons, like, the first five disciples, Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman, the adulterous woman, and the man born blind. Father's approach to John's Gospel is done in the spirit of what the African Bible empasises, "The whole gospel of John is stressing abudant life. In African traditions, life is the fundamental principle. If Christ came to bring life abudantly, he is confirming the African culture and bringing it to its perfection."
