The celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025 that focuses on hope is an urgent call for us all to remember that we are pilgrims moving towards our destiny. As we advance towards this destiny, sometimes there are moments of joy and sorrow, certainty and uncertainty. In all these diverse variations of life, we are to be strongly grounded in hope, aware that “hope does not disappoint” (Rom 5:5). The celebration of this Jubilee, therefore, invites us all to be ambassadors of hope to other people, even after the conclusion of 2025. Considering that the ancient Romans once said, “Nobody can give what he or she does not have”, it means that for us to be able to inspire hope in the lives of others, we should first have an experience of this hope. Let us, for this reason, live with the awareness that as believers we have endless hope and not a hopeless end.
