This book is deeply spiritual and would satisfy anybody, lay or religious, who wants to understand, cope and succeed happily with the catholic priesthood and clerical celibacy. I would agree with the author that any priest or religious who finds celibacy unbearable would have to examine his/her spiritual life seriously for some other problems or incompatibly. Francis E.O.Okobo (Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese)
This makes for good reading and it will certainly appeal to many. Priests and candidates of priesthood will find in it a confirmation of the wisdom behind their call to celibate life. Readers will also find in the book useful exhortations and safeguards against the temptations that often present themselves before the celibate. All celibates (by choice or circumstances) will find the book an inspiring piece of writing amidst a world of widespread hedonism. Many Catholics will find it highly informative on what the Church teaches about celibacy. It will provide answers to a number of questions many people have regarding the discipline of priestly celibacy. I recommend the book for the above categories of people and more. Rev. Fr George Ehusani (Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Lagos)
