The rainy season was just beginning, and Grandma slipped and fell down on her way into the house. Mary's mother and father took Grandma to the Hospital in town. There was much rushing around and commotion in the house, and Mary could not understand everything that was happening. A few days later, her mother returned from town and called her children together. Their father had not returned from town with her. She told the children to prepare for their Grandma's return. The children were very happy and excited! How they missed their Grandmother and her stories! "Yes," said their mother sadly, "Grandma will return home, but only to be buried here. She has died." As their mother spoke, tears flowed from her eyes. The older children understood that something bad had happened but for Mary everything seemed very strange. "Why are you crying, Mama?" asked Mary. "Did you not say Grandmother is coming home?" But her mother could not answer Mary's question. "I will explain to you later, my dear Mary. For now let us pray for your Grandma her mother answered softly.
