HIV/AIDS Care givers are struggling to cope with the pandemic and the difficult situations and new challenges it poses. Often these "Care Givers" have no specific training. They are people attending to a sick member of their family or "good Samaritans" taking care of a sick neighbour. This series is meant to provide an instrument, a resource to all those who are taking care and giving their concern to HIV/AIDS patients. HIV/AIDS, A MANUAL FOR CARE GIVERS, explains how to be good care givers or pastoral workers and what kind of persons they need to be in order to help the patients they are visiting. This love is shown by listening to the sick persons and understanding the different stages they go through in their suffering and being able to pray with them during these different stages. Sr Gill said that this book is really the work of the community health workers and the patients with AIDS themselves. It is they who helped us understand what those who are sick and dying need in the way of pastoral care.
