"Come be My Light..." Jesus' invitation to Mother Teresa in 1946 was the light that illumined her entire life. "I cannot go alone. They (the poor) don't know Me, so they don't want Me. You come...Go amongst them. Carry Me with you..." This "call within a call," the details of which remained hidden in the intimacy of her relationship with God until after her death, had taken her by surprise while still a young teaching nun in the Loreto convent. But, once discerned to be truly the call of Jesus' Heart, this new mission, to bring the light and love of Christ to the poorest of the poor, resounded in the depths of Mother Teresa's heart, and became the driving force behind all she did.
