One of the miracles attributed to Fr Tansi was the cure of a young woman named Philomena who worked for a group of religious sisters. She had been operated on unsuccessfully and was declared incurable by her physicians. She could neither eat nor stand. She had to be carried through a great crowd into the Cathedral cemetery, here she was able to reach out and touch the priest's coffin with faith. Suddenly Philomena, then totally crippled, stood up! This miracle was officially recognised by the Roman Congregation for the Causes of Saints in January 1996.
