This is a story based on facts that occurred in the life of Patrick (a
fictional name) a middle-aged man who lived and still lives in Lusaka, the
capital city of Zambia. The basic content emerged all through the one-to-one
counselling journey we had for over two and half years, during which he
attended more than thirty sessions. Even though Patrick left the native village
and moved to the capital city when he was a young boy, he had maintained clear
bonds with traditional beliefs, some of which were clearly blocking his personal
development and his social involvement.
