This volume, the second in the series, continues the study on several authors, pioneers of African theology. This volume discusses the lives and works of ten authors, from both French and English-speaking African. Moreover, this volume is ecumenical, thus not confining itself to Catholic theologians only. In fact, in addition to the authors studied herein, the editors have added, as an appendix, an important text, the Accra Decleration (1977) which was, so to speak, the manifesto of the Ecumenical Association of African Theologians. This Second volume completes the first, since it treats not only of the problem of contextualization based on a sole African tradition but also presents authors who have addressed the question of the liberation of Africa, both in the socio-economic and political contexts, without neglecting the fundamental concern of the inculturation of the gospel messsage.
