This book is about the life of Leslie, a beautiful girl born with a rare condition- Trisomy 13. This condition is associated with severe intellectual disability and development challenges. Babies with the condition often have heart and brain defects, as well as severe feeding difficulties. It is very rare for a baby with Trisomy 13 to survive the first year of life. 90 percent of babies born with the condition die by the age of one. There is no scientific evidence that a parent could have done anything to cause or prevent the birth of  a baby with such a condition.
